Governors

Felbridge Governing Body

As a state maintained community school, Felbridge Primary is locally managed by a governing body. The following groups are represented on the governing body - staff, parents, the local education authority and the local community. The role of the governor, in any category, is voluntary.
The governing body work in partnership with staff to develop the school. They meet regularly, working hard to achieve the very best education for all pupils at the school.
Parent governors are elected by their fellow parents and represent their views. If you would like to help the school by becoming a governor, please get in touch with the Headteacher to find out what is involved. All governors are supported by induction and further training opportunities to support them in the role.

Contact details for governors are available through the school office.

All enquiries for the Chair of Governors can be made through the office via office@felbridgetlt.co.uk

Governor Profiles

We have two children at Felbridge and it’s clear from the start that it is a very special school. Outside of the school I work for Surrey Police as a senior Detective and before that spent 6 years as an Army nurse. I was always drawn to teaching and being a governor allows me to at least work alongside and support the amazing staff at Felbridge and feel part of the team. Having spent much of my career in safeguarding I was pleased to take on the lead role for this to support our brilliant children at school.

Matt Barcraft-Barnes

Chair of Governors and Chair of Resources Committee

(Community Governor)

I have been teaching for over fifteen years and truly enjoy supporting children as they grow through exploration, creativity, and discovery. I am passionate about reading for pleasure, which was the focus of my Master’s degree.

I am an experienced school leader and enjoy strategic planning and school improvement projects.

Outside of the classroom, I am an avid traveller and love exploring new places—especially by plane! One of my most exciting adventures was living and teaching in Malaysia.

I am really excited to be part of Felbridge Primary School's bright future.

(Community Governor)

I have one child at the school and it is a joy to see them both thriving. I spent 14 years working in the NHS managing teams and building services before my current role in private practice, all of which has provided me with many transferable skills as a school governor. My aim is to continue to develop the school so that pupils can reach their full potential and staff feel supported in their teaching.

Rebecca Flint

(Parent Governor)

I have two children at Felbridge and, from our very first visit, it was clear to us what a special community the school is. Having worked in education for more than a decade, I understand the pressures schools face and recognise the important role that governors play in helping them respond to challenges and thrive.  The wellbeing and holistic development of young people have always guided my work, and I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to support Felbridge in this work. I’m passionate about helping the school continue to be a place where children feel safe, inspired, and able to thrive.

(Staff Governor)

I have worked in the school office at Felbridge Primary School for 17 years and am proud to take on the role of staff governor. During my time here, I have witnessed the many changes within our school community and have developed an understanding of the challenges and opportunities we face. As staff governor, I am committed to representing the interests of my colleagues and school community, working collaboratively with the governing body to ensure our school continues to be a place where children and staff alike can flourish.
