In clear weather and quiet surroundings, the Felbridge Gladiators—Spencer, Thea, Esme, and Ollie—stepped out proudly to face their challenge. Starting at Hole 3 in a Texas Scramble, nerves were high, especially with water hazards ahead, but confidence remained strong. Thea settled everyone early with a par, lifting team morale.

The team continued steadily—par at Hole 7, then a dramatic moment at Hole 8. After reaching the fringe in three shots, Ollie delivered a stunning long putt for par, sparking huge celebrations. The next holes passed quickly, with consistent pars and excellent approach play from Esme and Thea, setting up Spencer for a well-taken chance.

With three holes remaining, pressure built. Esme secured par on a tricky uphill Hole 3. On Hole 4, teamwork and strategy guided them to another solid par. The final Hole 5 proved tough, but Ollie’s powerful shot reached the green, and careful planning from Esme and Thea ensured a safe finish with yet another par.

The round ended at even par across nine holes. Though not placed, the team showed honour, determination, and spirit. Celebrations followed—helped by a lost bet that earned them all ice creams—making it a memorable day not just for the golf, but for the camaraderie and fun.
