Dear Parents and Carers

As we near the end of the year, school life gets very busy and the calendar is filled with lovely things for us all to enjoy!

On Wednesday and Thursday evening, we were treated to two outstanding performances of 'Pirates of the Curry Bean' from Years 5 and 6.  Macaws proved to be an excellent support as the choir, as well as the odd mouse and rat! and Jaguars led the cast with great teamwork and enthusiasm.  The sound when all of the children were singing together was quite spectacular and the whole show was definitely West-end worthy!  Congratulations to the whole cast and a big thank you to all of the staff involved in supporting the production, especially our star directors, Mrs Rolfe and Mrs Sims.

Today we held our annual sports day and despite the heat, I was so pleased that we were able to go ahead.  It was a joy to see the children enjoying all of the events and really 'giving it their all'.  I am always impressed by the sportsmanship shown by our children on these occasions and how well they support each other.  Congratulations to all of the children for their enthusiasm and participation and well done to our winning team, Hophurst (the black team).  I would like to give a special mention to Miss Jones who has not only organised the sports day and made the necessary adjustments for today, but who has also organised many extra-curricular sporting events through the year - thank you Hannah! Also, thank you to Mrs J, who has supported Miss Jones with the administration and co-ordination of these activities.

This week we have had two class assemblies - well done to Macaws for their dreams-inspired presentation, particularly for the wonderful rendition of 'A Million Dreams' and Monkeys, we enjoyed your 'Matilda' themed assembly, including your version of 'When I grow up'.  As always, the children presented with confidence and enthusiasm – well done to both classes!

On Monday, you will receive your child's end of year report - this will be sent to you via email this year.  Teachers will be available on Tuesday 14th July from 3.15 - 4.15 pm, should you have any questions relating to the report.

We are looking forward to seeing you all all the Colour Run tomorrow - it should be a really fun afternoon!

Have a lovely weekend.

With best wishes

Throughout the year, our year 6 school councillors have been attending meetings at Imberhorne School with councillors from other local schools.  When they meet, they have been discussing environmental issues, sharing ideas from each school.  As part of this project, the councillors set a competition for all of the children in all of the schools to create a poster to encourage people to look after the environment.  I am delighted to share that the joint winners and second place were all from Felbridge:

Autumn and Charlotte 1st and Delphine 2nd (Year 6).  Congratulations to you all and well done to everyone who took part.
